Coach Maddison LeClere praised the team's response after an earlier tournament loss. "I couldn’t be more proud. We came out after our loss (to DCG on Monday) and were really impressive this morning," she said.

Wagner added, "We tried for our seniors. We just let it fly. For me, it was see ball, hit ball and keep it simple."

Dallas Center-Grimes improved to 32-6. The box score showed Kennedy scoring twice in the fourth before DCG added insurance runs, according to tournament results.
