MarQwan Morgan posts 21.5 PPG over 13 Nike EYBL games, torches Brad Beal Elite for 31

MarQwan Morgan spent the summer testing himself against the deepest 16-and-under talent pool in the country on the Nike EYBL circuit, and the Davenport North guard produced a body of work that stands up to scrutiny.

Playing for Mac Irvin Fire, Morgan appeared in 13 EYBL 16U games and scored 280 points — a 21.5-point average — while adding 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. The 6-foot-3 Class of 2028 guard shot 45.5% from the field, 25.6% from three and 84.8% at the free-throw line across the full slate.

His signature performance came in Memphis against Brad Beal Elite, one of the circuit's premier programs. Morgan poured in 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting and made 11 of 12 free throws, attacking the rim and finishing through contact against defenders who will play at the highest collegiate level. For the Memphis session overall, he averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals while shooting 47.7% from the field and 95.7% at the line.

The EYBL 16U circuit assembles the nation's top rising juniors, and Morgan's production across 13 games — not a single weekend — gives evaluators a substantial sample against elite competition night after night. He entered the summer ranked first in the updated May 2026 Iowa Class of 2028 rankings.

The next test arrives in a Davenport North uniform. Another high school season will show how Morgan's EYBL production translates when opponents can game-plan for him night after night. For now, 280 points against the country's best 16U players have shifted the question from whether he deserves attention to what he does with it next.
